Hey guys! I'm excited to be blogging again. I've had a very exciting and action packed summer, so it's been wild in terms of writing everything down. My girlfriend Kiara was visiting from Australia, I've been planning my workshop tour, and in the midst, continuing to create art and businesses. Here's a BTS look at my most recent shoot, featuring my AMAZING new Veo Tripod from Vanguard... can't wait to take this thing traveling! Here some behind the scenes images from the creation of the image "The Pain of Growth" and a look at the new Vanguard VEO tripod, created specifically for traveling photographers:
The Vanguard VEO is the tripod I've been looking for for 3 years, and now, it's finally sitting inside my camera bag.... Yes, you heard that right. Inside my camera bag! The VEO tripod is an incredible feat in the tripod design industry. Not only is it sturdy, reliable, and made from high-quality materials, but it also folds in to the tiniest form factor I've seen for a tripod of this caliber.
When I started traveling for photography 3 years ago, I was continually tasked with taking large, bulky tripods on domestic and international flights. In fact, I remember one time, I took a tripod as a personal item on a connecting flight in the U.K., and when I grabbed it from the overhead compartment as we de-planed, I accidentally hit a very sweet (and thankfully, forgiving) elderly woman right in the forehead... whoops. With the VEO tripod, I can count on having a lightweight, sturdy, and anti-elderly-woman-collision tripod on hand. It's a breeze to travel with, and will be coming alongside me for 20 photoshoots and 16 photography workshops around the world, ranging exotic destinations including Brazil, Italy, India, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Australia. If you would like to learn more about the workshops, or to book a seat, you can find more information here: www.davidtalley.io/workshops.
I am incredibly excited to bring this amazing new piece of tripod engineering around the world, knowing I can rely on something small, fast, and easy to set up. I travel often for work, and I'm often on my feet with plenty of camera gear on me as I walk throughout foreign cities. Having the VEO on hand makes it so much easier for me to have a reliable tripod in my kit even when I'm out, without having to worry about size or weight. This thing is amazing, and I can't wait to use it even more during the rest of the year on all of my travels."
I created this image to highlight the painful nature we all have to go through some times in order to grow. To accompany, I wrote a small poem:
"Beauty must leave it's box, for beauty's splendor to show,
To leave the box is painful, but is the only way to grow..."
Lastly, a look at the editing process for this photo with Affinity Photo:
I'm on a mission to show that the light will always pierce through the darkness.
